Martine is a tough female cop trying to solve the kidnapping of young Caroline by a gang of pornographers. She already has an accomplice inside the gang feeding her information, but progress is hindered by her own police commissioner. In her private live, Martine likes to hang around with her male colleagues, swapping a younger cop for the more mature and experienced Jean.
L'exécutrice comes from a time where porn was no longer on 35mm and on theatres and some porn workers (here director Michel Caputo, actress and actors Brigitte Lahaie and Richard Allan) where trying to make a break-through into a more mainstream cinema. If I wanted to be mean, I would say that sometimes one should better stay where he belongs... But to be fair, if Lahaie is an incredibly awfully bad actress, most of her (non-porn) partners are almost equally bad. You maybe won't notice if you're lucky enough not to speak French but some of the acting here is so bad it becomes hilarious. I said some 'cause there's also a minority of real actors in it (notably Michel Modo - as the commissioner, who was a popular supporting actor from the 1960's to his death, last year) trying to do their job professionally. The plot also sucks, so as the directing, not to mention the music, editing, etc. The whole thing tends to look at time more like a home movie than a professional movie...Yet, it has been released on theatres (I'm maybe too zealous with that "s" at the end of theatres, I'm not sure there were more than one copy printed) on January the 15th, 1986. No shit!
Surprisingly, the movie also have its moments. From time to time, a good dialogue exchange, an inspired camera move, an actor suddenly convincing or a well edited sequence brings the film to a higher level. But don't worry, it doesn't happen that often.
